Summer Fun or Anxiety & Overwhelm?
Summer can stir up so much.
We’re told it’s meant to be carefree and joyful — full of holidays, beach trips, slowness and golden-hour fun. But if you’re going through a separation or living with post-divorce realities, that dream can feel miles away.
Maybe you're not going away this year.
Maybe money is painfully tight.
Maybe your co-parenting arrangement is complicated
Or you're feeling the loneliness of a family shape you didn’t choose.
It can feel like everyone else is living their best life — and you’re just trying to muster the energy to pack a day out bag.
You’re not alone in that.
On our recent group coaching call, we spoke about that feeling of stuckness — how even small tasks can feel like mountains. But we also explored the power of gentleness. Of honouring how draining emotional upheaval can be. And how just one tiny step is sometimes enough.
We also did some powerful future visioning. Not pressure-filled goal-setting — but asking softly:
"What do I hope next summer feels like? And what seeds can I plant now?"
Because even in the rubble, you get to dream again.
To start imagining a version of life that feels lighter, freer, and more yours.
If you’d like to try that process, here’s the beautiful 12-minute meditation we used:

And here are the journaling prompts we explored:
What do I need to let go of to feel more free this summer?
What do I need to invite in instead?
What do I hope next summer feels like—and what seeds can I plant now?
Whether you’re resting, reflecting, or just surviving right now — we see you.
And if you'd like to explore more together, you can attend our forthcoming clinics:
Easing the Anxiety & Overwhelm: Sharing and caring, easing and lifting (the sharing is optional).
Wednesday 30th July at 9.30am
Safe, Seen, Supported: A Drop-In on Parenting Through Family Change
Thursday 7th August at 11am
They are both open to anyone who wants some love, help and support on these subjects, not JUST focussed on the holidays but more generally with where you're at right now in your relationship, divorce, recovery from.
There's no sign up pages or registration (we're keeping things light as it's the holidays for us too), you simply need to save the date and email us here and we’'ll send you the Zoom links and a reminder just before we go live.
We will be recording parts of these calls if we are able to, but any attendees will not feature on the recordings visually or audibly so please don't let that put you off. It's a safe space and everything on the call is private and confidential. We're here simply to care and support you through the summer.
Sending love from us all,
Susie & Liz xx

P.S. If you want a listen of a recent podcast while your going about your day, check out the Stowe Family Talks Podcast interview with Liz on 'Walkaway Wife Syndrome.' It's one many of us could have done with sending to our ex's BEFORE things went beyond no return, but will help you understand what went wrong if that's what you're struggling with and will help you with what to look out for next time.
