Frequently Asked Questions

You don’t have to have it all figured out before you reach out.

Every situation is different—messy, complicated, and deeply personal. These FAQs answer common questions women ask before working with us. If you don’t see your question here, you can always get in touch.

  • Yes. Many women come to us while still in emotionally complex or unsafe dynamics—trying to make sense of things and work out what to do next. You don’t need to have made any big decisions yet. We’ll help you find clarity at your own pace.

  • Absolutely. You don’t need to have all the answers before getting support. Feeling unsure, stuck, or emotionally torn is exactly when many women start working with us. We’ll help you slow down, tune in, and get clear on what you actually need.

  • Yes. Whether you’re only just starting to question your relationship, in the middle of legal proceedings, or years post‑separation and still feeling the impact, we can support you. Our work adapts to your stage, your needs, and your pace.

  • You haven’t. You’ve done your best with what you knew and what you had. We don’t work from judgment—we work from right now. There is always a path forward, and we’ll help you find it without shame or shoulds.

  • We’re not just “divorce coaches”—we’re a two‑woman team with complementary expertise, giving you access to a wider, deeper skillset than most. Between us, we bring trauma‑aware, power‑aware coaching skills, a strong understanding of the legal process in England & Wales, and practical guidance for the legal process, working with your lawyer or mediator, and making strategic decisions. Susie’s expertise is grounded in parenting, children’s wellbeing, and navigating co‑parenting dynamics, while Liz specialises in finances, financial recovery, and deep healing work. Both of us can support you across parenting, finances, legal navigation, emotional stability, and life after divorce—so you get integrated, whole‑life support instead of a one‑dimensional approach.

  • This isn’t psychotherapy. We’re coaches, educators, and advocates — specialists in divorce, family wellbeing, and trauma-aware support. Our work goes beyond talking therapy: we focus on clear next steps, emotional steadiness, and navigating the legal and life changes ahead.

Liz is an accredited EFT practitioner. EFT (tapping) helps regulate the nervous system and release trauma held in the body — creating shifts that talking alone can’t always reach. We believe this approach can be more powerful and transformational than talk therapy.

  • That’s okay—most of the women we work with have complex circumstances. Whether it’s children, finances, legal issues, or ongoing contact with a difficult ex, we’ll help you make sense of your options and break the overwhelm into manageable steps.

  • Yes. Many of our clients have experienced emotional, financial, or controlling behaviours—sometimes without realising it until we start working together. We are trauma‑aware and power‑aware, which means we can help you recognise unhealthy patterns, create safety plans, and connect you to specialist services where needed.

  • Completely. Nothing you share leaves our sessions unless you give explicit permission or there is a safeguarding concern. You’re in a safe space to be honest without fear of judgement or gossip.

  • Your safety comes first. We can agree on discreet contact methods—using private email addresses, secure payment options, and agreed communication channels—so you stay in control of how and when you engage.

  • We understand separation, divorce, or abuse can create huge financial pressure. We offer different levels of support—from free community spaces and resources to lower‑cost group options and one‑to‑one packages—so there’s a way to work with us at different price points.

  • Yes, if you want us to. We regularly work alongside legal teams to make sure they understand your priorities, help you prepare thoroughly for meetings, and keep you clear‑headed through negotiations. Because we can take on much of the preparation, strategy, and emotional support your lawyer might otherwise bill for, it’s often more cost‑effective to have us involved alongside them—saving you time, money, and stress.

  • Yes. Some clients work with us for a short, focused period, while others choose to stay connected for months or even years as their needs and circumstances evolve. We adapt the level and style of support to match where you are now.

  • No. You can start with a single session and see how it feels. Many women choose to continue once they’ve experienced the relief and clarity of having this kind of support.

  • We don’t expect you to show up at full strength. We know you’re tired—and that’s exactly why the right support matters. Our approach is gentle, paced, and focused on helping you stabilise first. You don’t need to be ready for everything. Just ready for your next step.

  • We’ll start by understanding what’s happening for you right now and what you most need—emotionally and practically. Together we’ll map your immediate next steps (legal, financial, or wellbeing), agree how we’ll communicate safely, and set a pace that feels manageable. You’ll leave with clarity, a plan, and support in place.
